10 Ways to Change your Life

I have been thinking for a while now about what I have learnt about myself over the last few months and what lessons I have picked up from all the books I have read, courses, seminars, blogs etc and decided it was time to pull it all together into one concept.

So, I hope you enjoy but don’t let it just become another blog page – get out there change your life, embrace the amazing world we live in and find your potential.  All of us can be truly amazing and you will never know just how amazing you are until you try!

Life is measured not but the number of moments we have but how much we make of each one.

Life isn’t complicated, enjoy the simplicity.  We all have a tendency to over analyse everything and to make everything far more complicated than it really is – embrace the simplicity of everyday, of every totally unique experience

What will be, will be – or as Doris Day said “Que Sera Sera”! Stop trying to control everything in your life – we all make plans, goals, have directions (or we all should do!) but remember, plans change, people change, new opportunities arise so  be flexible; never be so immutable that you cannot see the future as it unfolds, or cannot get swept up in a new challenge. The future is, by definition the future, so allow it to wrap around you and enjoy all it brings.

If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got! If something in your life isn’t working, change it; if you are unhappy with something then make a change.  Yes change is scary but imagine how wonderful life could be if it was just a bit different?!

Change your state.  You know, you don’t have to listen to the voice inside your head?  You can change what it says to you, whether you listen, what you do, how you feel.  Try visualising positive thoughts or situations and see what a difference it makes to how you feel – think of a time you felt amazing, when life was good and notice how that makes you feel now – hold onto that feeling and bring it into your everyday life.  You will be unstoppable….

Concentrate.  We are all so distracted that we try and do so many things all at the same time but try focussing on the task at hand and stop trying to do ten different things at once.  When you are with your children, be with them – don’t try and work, answer emails, take calls, facebook, twitter etc..  Make a time for each individual task and stop diluting your efforts, you will get more done!

Live the dream.  We all have a dream, a passion inside us – find your dream, discover what you really love to do and find a way to stock photo : bubble and think big symbol isolated on white backgroundincorporate it into your life.  You will feel more motivated and fulfilled than ever.

Choose happiness.  Remember, stuff happens.  Events happen to all our lives, it is how we choose to react to each event that determines the outcome in our life (Paul McGee – SUMO).  A really great way to remember that is  E + R = O.  Our reaction to everything shapes our perception of events and shapes other people’s reactions; make sure you choose positivity and happiness and get positive happy outcomes!

Learn every day.  We have the ability, the capability to learn no matter how old or how educated we are.  Get out of your comfort zone and learn something new everyday.  Challenge yourself, push yourself and see how far you can go – age is no barrier to physical exercise, to gaining knowledge, to having new experiences, so make sure you do something new every day. You will be amazed at the changes it will make to your life and your attitude.

Whether that’s a smile to someone on the tube, offering to help someone with a case, going that extra mile for a friend, or really putting yourself out, it will remind you that there is a great big world out there and people often have their own dramas and yours are, by comparison, quite small.  You give positive altruism out and you will find positive happy people and your view of your issues will change.
